PRIVATE and SEMIPRIVATE PILATES SESSIONS
Powerhouse Pilates specializes in thoughtfully tailored private and semiprivate sessions. Each session meets your body's needs and your personal goals.
Pilates always seems so serious. These private and duo sessions are uplifting, encouraging, motivational, and fun. If it’s not fun, what’s the point? They're also highly effective and are designed to yield results. Don’t worry about your current level of fitness. Let’s begin where you are. There’s great power in beginning. As Woody Allen says, ‘50% of success is showing up!’
Included in all sessions:
- An innovative workout, tailored to your goals, your body, your current energy level, and your time.
- Homework a 10 to 15 minute at home routine to be performed daily that will exponentially improve your Pilates practice and your physique. These routines will be based entirely on you.
- An optional weekly nutritional focus (simple yet highly effective!)
The following machines will both support you and challenge you on the road to achieving peak physical fitness.
When you first see the reformer, you might be scared, confused, or intimidated. Don’t be. The truth of the matter is that the reformer is Joseph Pilates most renowned piece of Pilates equipment. It is a sophisticated system of springs, straps, and pulleys. It’s an elegant machine that provides over a hundred finely tuned exercises that allows one to work very precisely with alignment, core strength, and all of the Pilates principles. With one machine you can target every single area of your body. It’s excellent for overall fitness or if you have an injury because it provides such control. It’s a very safe and effective way to workout. Don’t be intimidated....it’s incredibly fun too! This is one very fun and very smooth ride.
The cadillac was Joseph’s most impressive creation. It is incredible for lengthening while strengthening. It challenges the most elite athletes yet acts as a gentle introduction for novices. A genius’ masterpiece.
The Stability Chair
Deceptively resembling a stylish little stool, the Pilates Chair (most commonly known as the Wunda Chair or Stability Chair) is one versatile exercise machine. Don’t let the word “chair” fool you – it’s not necessarily a sitdown workout. Many exercises are performed seated on top of the chair while others involve pressing down on the step/pedal with your feet, others entail lying on the floor, standing straight up, lunging forward or doing pushup like moves with the arms. More than 75 exercises can be performed on this machine. It's especially great for those that need to stay in an upright position.
The Mat with Small Props
The mat sequence is Joseph Pilates’ original movement system, and the exercises are highly effective. These exercises balance our bodies, improve circulation, reduce stress, and improve endurance. They train both the mind and body and treat the body as a whole, not as isolated parts. We’ll use small props such as the stability ball, wobble board, rotational discs, havic sliders and fitness circle to enhance the exercises and add interest. This intelligent system will be the basis for your weekly at home routines.
