‘I have always been fascinated with movement. It’s my greatest passion and such a big part of who I am. I have or continue to be a dancer, yogi, runner, rock climber, skier, hiker, mountaineer, pilates enthusiast and teacher. Pilates is the most intelligent form of exercise I’ve ever come across. I absolutely love the way it makes me feel and I practice it every single day. I want to share my passion with others, so that they can find their strength and accomplish whatever it may be that they’re striving for’.
Jody Brouwers is the founder of POWERHOUSE PILATES and is a certified instructor through Stott Pilates in Matwork, Reformer, and Cadillac Chair and Barrels. She is dedicated to the authentic teachings of Joseph Pilates. Jody is a Neurokinetic Therapist (Level 3). NKT is a form of manual muscle testing that detects and corrects muscle imbalances. Jody completed her 200 hour Yoga Instructor certification through Yoga Alliance/Samadhi Bliss and studied dance with the Royal Academy of Dance for 15 years. She also has a TRX certificate of completion and is a Hypopressive Method instructor. When not attached to her beloved Pilates machines, you’ll find her trail running, hiking, rockclimbing, skiing, or practicing yoga.
In addition to attaining an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC, Jody has taken countless courses in natural nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology. She loves living in North Vancouver with her husband and two boys.
